CNPC's Dalian LNG project started its construction on April 18. It will receive and store LNG mainly imported from Australia and Qatar.

The Dalian LNG project consists of three parts: a dock, a receiving terminal and gas pipelines. The first phase of the receiving terminal project, planned to be completed and operational in earlier 2011, will have a construction scale of 3 million tons per year and an annual deliverability of 4.2 billion cubic meters. The second phase will have a construction scale of 6 million tons per year and an annual deliverability of 8.4 billion cubic meters. When the whole project is completed, the terminal will be capable to receive 7.8 million tons and deliver 10.5 billion cubic meters of LNG every year at a maximum.
