Chongqing Gas Field delivers 11 million cubic meters of gas per day to Sichuan

Natural gas produced by Chongqing Gas Field of CNPC Southwest Oil and Gas Field Company is normally delivered directly to over 100 large- and medium-sized enterprises and tens of millions of households in Sichuan and Chongqing through the North-South trunk of the Lanzhou-Chengdu-Chongqing Pipeline. However, wells and stations of this gas field located in Kaixian, Liangping and Dazhu counties were damaged in the May 12 earthquake.

Chongqing Gas Field immediately launched a contingency plan after the quake. Prompt and effective measures were taken to get production back to normal, ensuringthedaily delivery of 11 million cubic meters of gas to Sichuan, with priority given to domestic use and CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) supply.
