CNPC releases its 2008 Corporate Social Responsiblity Report

    On April 23, CNPC released its 2008 Corporate Social Responsiblity Report. This is the third consecutive year that CNPC publishes an annual CSR Report. Also released was CNPC's first country report on sustainability — CNPC in Kazakhstan Sustainability Report 2008.

    CNPC Vice President Zhou Jiping expressed, as a responsible company, rain or shine, CNPC has been fulfilling its responsibility to all the stakeholders. Pursuing our mission of "Caring for Energy, Caring for you", CNPC is making efforts to adopt a safer, more environmental friendly and efficient model for production and operation in a bid to achieve balance among economy, the environment and society.

    CNPC CSR Report has been delivering a concrete introduction to CNPC's business growth and sustainable development since 2006. In CNPC CSR Report 2008, "2009 outlook" and "Employee security" are newly added to documentation. Important issues, such as "Combating Climate Change" and "Energy Conservation and Consumption".

At present, CNPC has established five oil & gas cooperation zones in Central Asia, Africa, North America, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. In respond to stakeholders' expectation, we released the CNPC in Kazakhstan Sustainability Report 2008 for the first time. Henceforth, a sustainable report on selection of one overseas cooperation zone or one country will be published every year.
