By the end of April, with the completion of the preliminary design of all devices, construction of the 1Mt/a ethylene unit at Fushun Petrochemical Company fully commenced.
The 1Mt/a ethylene unit is part of the "10 Mt/a Refining, 1Mt/a ethylene" project at Fushun Petrochemical, and also an important project for CNPC. As an expansion project, eight production units including a 800kt/a ethylene unit, 450kt/a linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) unit, 300kt/a polypropylene unit, as well as auxiliary and public use facilities will be built. The engineering of the project, with a total investment of RMB 15.6 billion, will be completed in December 2011.
