Turkey’s Erdemir plans to invest US$300m for new galvanizing mill in 2013

Reportedly, Turkish Erdemir has planned to invest US$300 million for adding new galvanizing line in 2013 in order to meet the domestic automotive industrial demand.

Currently, the company already has a galvanizing plant at its Eregli works which are able to produced hot rolled coil (HRC), cold rolled coil, hot-dip galvanized coil, HR plate and tinplate; the Iskenderun (Isdemir) works produces billet, wire rod and HRC.

In the meantime, Erdemir Group's crude steel annual production capacity reached 9.1 million tons.

In addition, the company expects to upgrade its product range and production capacity at its Iskenderun works in order to meet steel demand from major pipe line projects like Nabucco and TANAP (Trans Anatolia Gas Pipeline Project).
