According to report, Japan's largest nickel producer and second-largest copper smelter, Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. may slash copper output by 3% in fiscal 2013.
The refined copper production will be reduced to estimated 423,000 metric tons from 436,000 tons from last fiscal year started April 1st, according to the company's statement today.
In addition, the company will raise electrolytic nickel output by 30% to 53,200 tons for this fiscal year.
