The demand for imported heavy plate in Turkey still remained weak and it is estimated that the situation would not turn better in a short time.
Currently, Ukrainian mills like Alchevsk and LLyich offer US$550/ton CFR for heavy plate with Ocotober shipment to Turkey, up by US$10/ton on three weeks ago.
In addition, Makstil Steel Corporation in Macedonia offers US$740/ton CFR for heavy plate with September shipment to Turkey, up by US$20/ton on last month.
In Turkey, the offer of heavy plate on the domestic market enjoyed a pick-up on price by US$10~US$15/ton on last month while the demand still remains slack.
