Taiwanese YP and Sysco plan to rise export prices for April

Yieh Phui Enterprise (YP), one of the major coating steel mills in Taiwan, has announced its January combining sales revenue was NT$4.819 billion which has risen 8.12% Y-O-Y.

Due to the dropping NTD currency, YP has become profitable in January, it is said if the exchange rate between USD and NTD could stay lower than 1: 29.5, YP should still profitable in this February and March. In whole Q1, YP has risen its export price by about US$50~60/MT and it is said YP plans to rise its export prcie again by US$30~35/MT in April.

YP said their current capacity utilization has almost been fully booked. Also, Since Taiwan's China Steel Corp. may keep rising its April and May prices, the increasing raw material cost will push Taiwan's Sysco to rise its new export prices in April.
