China Steel Corp. (CSC), the largest carbon steelmaker in Taiwan announced to cut its leeway prices by NT$800/ton for April due to weak demand and low-priced imports into Taiwanese market.
After the adjustment, the list prices for hot rolled leeway are at NT$16,250~NT$17,250/ton; those for cold rolled leeway are at NT$19,200~NT$19,700/ton.
Meanwhile, some of market participants previously suggested CSC not release leeway this month due to oversupply.
CSC said that it will observe market situation and deiced whether to release leeway into the market.
