Uruguay’s steel flats imports surge by 27% in June

It's reported that Uruguay's imports of steel flat products including stainless cold rolled coils (CRC), hot-dipped galvanized coils (HDG) and hot-rolled (HR) sheets totaled 5,070 tons in June, soaring by 27.4% from a month ago.

Among them, 2,686 tons were stainless CRC, higher than 1,820 tons in May; 1,759 tons were HDG coils, rising from 1,683 tons in a month ago; 626 tons were HR sheets, increasing from 474 tons in the previous month.

Meanwhile, Brazil was the main supplier of CRC to Uruguay with 1,769 tons at US$2.8 million FOB; Mexico was the largest HDG coil supplier with 1,324 tons at US$1.2 million. Argentina was the main HR sheet supplier with 430 tons at US$320,678 FOB.
