China adjusted the purchase of corn for temporary storage to a new "market-oriented purchase + national subsidies" policy. According to analyst CCM, this adjustment will pull down the market price of corn, unfavorable for the rise in price of lysine. Meanwhile, downstream demand for lysine will remain slack in the short run. Thus, the market price of lysine is expected to continue going down.

Q1 2016 has witnessed a downturn in China's MSG market, due to the falling prices of raw materials, excess capacity and the cancelation of national preferential policy on export. In the later period, "small profit and large sales" will be a trend in the overall MSG market.

China's market price of threonine has continued going down, affected by the falling price of corn and excess capacity. Due to increasing overseas demand, leading threonine producers have kept expanding production capacity after industrial integration. In the later period of 2016, they are likely to down-regulate sales price for larger sales.

In Q1 2016, China's market price of tryptophan remained low, due to falling price of corn, competition with its substitute soybean meal and the sluggish downstream demand. In Q2, the price of tryptophan is expected to rebound slightly.

In April 2016, Adisseo announced rise in net profit in its full-year 2015 financial figures, thanks to the exchange of major assets and company restructuring. Meanwhile, its animal nutrition business also recorded YoY rise, due to the lower production cost and rising market price of methionine. In 2016, the company's larger sales contributed to its upward financial performance, despite the falling market price of methionine. Thus, Adisseo plans to take its advantages in supply for larger sales in the later period.

In March 2016, China Starch announced its financial performance in full-year 2015: total revenue up 4.6% YoY but gross profit down 2.5% YoY. In particular, its revenue from lysine fell by 17.69%, due to the lower sales price.
