Since Sept., cane sugar plants in Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have started extracting sugar leading the country into the sugar campaign 2021/2022 — estimate of the national sugar sales for this period is slightly lower than that in the last season.

Late Oct., major domestic sweetener producers BLB, Bailong Chuangyuan and Layn released their Q3 reports. All announced big jumps in revenue and net profit along with the booming sweetener market. BLB, in particular, claimed over 800% growth in net profit in Q3 since its functional sugars are in great demand.

In Oct., the EIA report of Kanghua Biotech's 10,000 t/a xylose and 10,000 t/a arabinose automation and transformation project was publicised as well as the second-time EIA acceptance of its xylose production line upgrading and transformation project.

In Sept., the export volume of fructose syrup was 3,552 tonnes, dropping by 75.09% YoY; the export price averaged at USD636/t, surging by 70.60% YoY. The export volume was down by 73.22% YoY as export price has remained high in Jan.-Sept. 2021.

This year, Dongxiao Bio launched investments in 30,000 t/a Premium Erythritol Intelligence Reconstruction Project with a total of RMB105 million and 30,000 t/a Premium Erythritol Production Project with RMB300 million. Currently, the two projects have the draft of EIA reports publicised in Oct, and are processing as scheduled.

In Oct., Jinhe Industrial released EIA report of the 1,500 t/a bio-fermented product project, soliciting public opinion. The project will help boost the company's competitiveness, including 1,000 t/a allulose, 450 t/a glucosylated steviol glycoside and 50 t/a Reb-D/Reb-M. Besides, Jinhe Industrial reported growths in both revenue and net profit in Q3.
