According to the 2013 China Top 100 Pesticide Manufacturers list released by the China Crop Protection Industry Association, the total pesticide revenue of the top 100 pesticide manufacturers recorded a 27.9% increase in 2012. Based on the H1 2013 and Q3 2013 reports of listed companies, most of the leading pesticide companies will still have a good performance in 2013.

Through acquisitions, Nutrichem Laboratory Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Huapont-Nutrichem Co., Ltd., became the largest pesticide company in China by revenue in 2012. Recently, Huapont-Nutrichem has made headway in its acquisition program, which will enhance the company’s position and competitive power in the agrochemical industry. Acquisitions made by companies like Huapont-Nutrichem will further increase the concentration of the pesticide industry in China.

Besides, the increasing planting area of some crops such as asparagus, the worsening situation of diseases like apple canker and the higher application rate of wheat seed treatment all bring good opportunities to pesticide enterprises.
