Major crop diseases have gradually entered their high-incidence period in China since July, such as corn northern leaf blight, corn southern leaf blight, rice sheath blight, rice blast, potato late blight and cotton verticillium wilt. As a result of domestic market demand, some fungicides with high efficiency, low toxicity and environmental friendliness that prevent and control these diseases have been selling well in the meantime. In spite of this, the ex-factory prices of most fungicides have remained at relatively stable levels, like isoprothiolane, epoxiconazole, prochloraz, hexaconazole, cymoxanil.

In H1 2013, the total output of pesticide technical (calculated by 100% technical) reached 1,635,000 tonnes, up by 4.94% year on year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS). Of this, the output of fungicide technical recorded a rise of 10.60% year on year to about 86,000 tonnes in the first half of this year, accounting for 5.26% of the total of pesticide technical.

In terms of export business, China exported about 37,034 tonnes of fungicide products (technical and formulations) to overseas markets in the first half of 2013, especially Vietnam, Thailand, Ukraine, Indonesia and Colombia. Compared with H1 2012, the export volume of fungicide products in H1 2013 only increased by 23 tonnes. In addition, the total export value of fungicide products witnessed a year-on-year growth of 9.01% to around USD194.56 million.
