In Sept. 2014, China's bio-based materials market still witnesses slow development. The NDRC jointly with MOF carried out special projects for bio-based materials industry, to impel the applications in China. CCM believes that the policy issued this time turns from general promotion to specific application, along with clear application targets.
Although the Chinese government has provided detailed guidance for the specific application of bioplastics, the industry is still involved in a niche market. In this issue, CCM outlines the progresses made in PLA, PBS and PHA in the Twelfth Five-year Plan, covering market, technology and production scale. Specifically, CCM puts emphasis on the developmental directions and methods of related bio-based materials enterprises in the first three quarters of 2014. Regarding the conclusion that the bio-based materials industry still sees slow development, what can enterprises do to overcome it?
Also, CCM discusses about the development potential of bio-based materials by quantitatively analyzing part of the raw materials such as corn starch and LA, including prices and imports & exports. In detail, based on the impact brought by harvested corn launched on the market to corn starch in previous years, the opportunities given to bio-based materials are presented. Meantime, from the perspective of imports & exports in recent three years and changes in industrial applications, CCM tries to show you the development of LA as raw material for PLA in China. What impact will the price changes of corn starch and LA bring to their downstream bio-based materials industry?
Besides, in view of the hot issues in Sept., CCM probes into the possibility for bio-based materials to be used in mobile phones. Will bio-based materials catch up with the quick development of high-end mobile phones? What about the prospect for bio-based materials to be applied in high-end electronic fields such as smartphones?
The above hot topics in China’s bio-based materials market will be explored and reported by CCM in detail in this e-journal, Bio-based Materials China News 1409. Please pay attention.
