Citric acid industry:

2022 was a good year for China's citric acid business, the output and exports of which hit record high in the year and the price peaked in June, despite that there was a reverse starting from Aug., showing price dive and operation slowdown. In Q4, citric acid manufacturers were operating at loss.

Sodium gluconate (SG) industry:

The EI report of Anhui BBCA Biochemical's technical renovation project of 10,000 t/a sodium gluconate (SG) and 20,000 t/a L-alanine was released.

Malic acid industry

Huaheng Biotech (Stock code: 688639) proposed to issue stock to raise funds for the construction of the 50,000 t/a malic acid project.

In Q4 2022, the price of citric acids was on the slide; the quarterly average ex-works prices of monohydrate citric acid and anhydrous citric acid were about 61%–63% of that in Q3.
