Welcome to the April issue of Sweeteners China News published by CCM International, a professional consulting company which has been extensively and intently focusing on dynamics of China's sweetener industry.
In March 2012, some listed sweetener companies in China released their 2011 Annual Reports. Through analyzing those annual reports, functional oligosaccharide and starch sugar industries are expected to have a good development in 2012. What's more, net profit of Global Sweeteners Holdings Limited sees an annual increase of 61.2% in 2011, attributed to its obviously increased revenue from starch sugar business.
Besides, domestic corn starch price has enjoyed an increase in March 2012 due to corn price's uptrend. However, the price of starch sugar, a major downstream product of corn starch, has declined a little at the same time due to slack sales during this period.
In addition, the emergence of new sweetener projects is continuing in China in 2012. On March 9, 2012, Zhongdu Sugar started to build a HFCS project with capacity of 1 million t/a in Hebei Province. And Hunan Weijia started its stevia sweetener project in Shuangfeng County from March 2, 2012.
