Policy

On 5 June, 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China and six other departments jointly issued a notice on the Food Industry Digital Transformation Implementation Plan, requiring the sweetener industry chain to implement intelligent equipment and digital traceability, promoting the industry to break through in the direction of high quality.

Project update

• Dezhou Huiyang's 100,000 t/a trehalose green intelligent demonstration project
• Minsheng Sichuan Industry's 300,000 t/a starch sugar project
• Heilongjiang Xianggu's 160,000 t/a crystalline trehalose project
• Dezhou Huiyang plans to build 100,000 t/a trehalose project
• Guangxi Boxuan's sugar expansion and tech renovation project
• Jiangxi Weibolai's 1,350.9 t/a sweetener products project

Import and Export

In Jan. to May, 2025, China's xylitol exports reached 31,525 tonnes, a YoY increase of 9.64%, export value up by 5.05% YoY.

Price update

In June, the solid sugar products continue to face a situation where supply exceeds demand, with prices remaining stable and falling; liquid sugar products have seen a slight increase.
