In March, the prices of insecticides technical and related raw materials increased. Some technical and intermediates remained low operating rates; moreover, their inventories were also in low levels. Formulations enterprises were careful in purchasing, waiting for more stable market conditions.

ADAMA has successfully obtained regulatory approval for its proprietary nematicide, NIMITZ®, in Brazil. Jiangsu Flag has completed the first announcement on the results of environmental impact assessments for its 5,800 t/a pesticides technical technological upgrading project. Jiangsu Changqing’s financial performance further improved in 2017, thanks to the increased prices of its leading products. Yingde Greatchem exported 182,131 kg of cypermethrin in 2017, up by roughly 130% YoY. BSM Chemical has obtained the registration of methoxyfenozide TC in China, and the project has also started. It is likely to be a leading methoxyfenozide producer in the future.

Local governments continued to carry out special work safety inspections. Hebei Province will see stricter environmental policies in 2018: not only the “2+26” cities but also counties/districts will be covered, and all of them will be ranked based on the air quality there.

In terms of registration, 20 insecticides technical were registered in China by 17 enterprises, with nine active ingredients covered.
