Welcome to July Issue of Sweeteners China News (Vol.8 Issue 7 2018).
In early July, the national standards for xylo-oligosaccharides (GB/T 35545-2017) started to be enforced in China, which will promote a healthy and standardised development of the entire industry. Also, thanks to the standards, the product will have a better application in the downstream food industry.
Following the implementation of the standards, a three-year action plan for cleaner air was unveiled, with specific goals and tasks given in it. As the local governments formulate the detailed measures in accordance with the plan, multiple products are probably to be negatively influenced and see increases in prices.
On 4 July, NFBC announced the approval of its construction of a new GMP plant. With a construction period of 12 months, the plant is expected to be put into operation in Aug. 2019 and will be capable of annually producing 25,000 tonnes of starch sugar, 10,000 tonnes of galactooligosaccharides and 2,000 tonnes of fructooligosaccharide.
