In Oct. 2022, ICAMA approved 38 newly-registered insecticide products, including three hygienic insecticide products. Among them, three are chlorantraniliprole TC, registered by FLAGCHEM, Lier Chemical and Shandong Youdao respectively.

The compound chlorantraniliprole went off-patent in China on 13 Aug., 2022. So far, some Chinese pesticide producers have planned chlorantraniliprole TC capacity. Among them, Guang'an Lier publicised in late Sept. the EI report involving a set of chlorantraniliprole TC pilot-test equipment, Shandong Youdao finished provisional acceptance of the chlorantraniliprole TC equipment also in late Sept., and Chongqing Huage is currently preparing for early-stage procedures for its chlorantraniliprole TC project. Besides, Hebei Nongxin would launch two chlorantraniliprole formulation products in Nov.—Nongxin Tengge®, a mixed formulation chlorantraniliprole·indoxacarb 25% SC, and Nongxin Zhanshen®, a single formulation chlorantraniliprole 30% SC.

In terms of insecticides market dynamics:

• In early Oct., the ex-work prices of imidacloprid TC and acetamiprid TC were basically stable under weak sales. It is worth noting that the supply of these two products would increase soon as Shandong Hailir may resume operation in early Nov. and Wuzhong Linghang may start imidacloprid TC production in the near future.
• In late Oct., prices of most insecticides TC dropped, while some organophosphorus insecticides TC and pyrethroid insecticides TC had stable prices. Some nicotinoid insecticides TC saw their prices set lower mainly due to slow sales.
