April saw mixed prices of amino acids.

The market price of lysine significantly increased in April following higher quotation and climbing corn price. Moreover, manufacturers exported in a larger number due to increasing demand for lysine and slight depreciation of RMB.

The market price of live pig continued falling after the Tomb-sweeping Day. Slaughter enterprises lowered down the price followed by poor sales performance in April with increasing supply of live pigs. However, threonine saw strong performance and even stronger in the future when the climate becomes warm.

In April, some amino acids enterprises released 2016 financial reports. Zhejiang NHU saw net profit surge from increasing prices of nourishment, flavor and fragrance; meanwhile, it has successfully established the first stage of methionine project and made it launched into production, which would be another profit driver for the company.

The market price of methionine is estimated to remain low when purchasers pretended to wait for a lower price with the launch of Zhejiang NHU’s new capacity, not to mention the oversupply situation in the market and large import in Q1.

Yongan Pharmaceutical saw net profit surge in April, due to price rise of taurine and decreased production cost. Besides, the high price of taurine will continue under the limited production, which will be a major income for Yongan Pharmaceutical in the foreseeable future.
