The price uptrend of mainstream insecticides in Q1 extends to April. According to the price monitoring by CCM, the monthly ex-works price of 95% acetamiprid technical, 95% abamectin technical and 95% pymetrozine technical in April increased by 12.74%, 10.14%, 9.08% respectively month on month, experiencing the highest price growth among mainstream insecticides.
In spite of the increasing price, several large-scale domestic pesticide producers still continuously received purchase orders, enjoying a thriving market in the past months of 2013. For instance, Hebei Veyong Bio-chemical Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Huifeng Agrochemical Co., Ltd. announced that their net profit in Q1 2013 increased by 426.61% and 100.25% year on year respectively, according to their Q1 reports.
Meanwhile, the pesticide production cost was also rising at the same time, mainly due to the increasing price of raw materials and intermediates. Thus, occupying resources of raw materials and integrating the supply of intermediates is considered the development trend for pesticide producers in the future. At present, producers are attempting to exploit or enhance the production of intermediates.
