In 2013, China's cumulative output of fungicide technical was around 203,486 tonnes, up 33.79% year on year, and it accounted for 6.38% of total output of chemical pesticide technical in that year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS). In particular, Jiangsu, Anhui and Zhejiang provinces contributed the most of the output of fungicide technical. Meanwhile, China's total cumulative output of chemical pesticide technical reached 3,189,525 tonnes in 2013, with a year-on-year increase of 1.64%.
According to the forecast of NATESC, the accumulative occurrence area of pest and disease on crops will reach 366.67 million ha in 2014, more serious compared with 2013. Notably, rice blast, wheat scab and northern leaf blight of corn are in the risk for a pandemic; wheat stripe rust may occur in some regions moderately. Under the circumstances, the demand for fungicides especially on main grain crops will rise in China in 2014 and some agrochemical companies will benefit from it.
