Compared to 2011, domestic listed pesticide enterprises have enjoyed a good performance generally in 2012 . Among the 20 pesticide listed enterprises, there are 17 of them reported revenue growth in 2012. The largest growth rate of revenue in these enterprises reached 507.65% and the smallest reached 1.49%. Only three of them witnessed revenue decline and one of them suffered deficit.
China's pesticide TC output in 2012 firstly exceeded 3 million tonnes, reaching 3,549,090 tonnes, up 19% over that in 2011. The main reason for the large growth of pesticide output in this year is mainly because of the large increase output of herbicide, which is driven by the large demand of some bulk herbicides, namely glyphosate, paraquat, 2,4-D, etc. Totaly herbicide output in this period surged by 42.5% over 2011, reaching 1647,975 tonnes.
The price and demand increase of these bulk herbicides has directly helped some pesticide listed enterprises get on the top of the revenue list, such as Nanjing Redsun Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Wynca Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd., Nantong Jiangshan Agrochemical & Chemicals Co., Ltd., etc.
However, although the revenue of most domestic listed pesticide enterprises has largely increased YoY, there is still a large gap between domestic listed pesticide enterprises and those multinational ones. According to Syngenta, its revenue in 2012 reached USD14,200 million, two times more than the total revenue of the 20 domestic pesticide listed enterprises.
