Xinjiang Tianye (Group) Co., Ltd.'s biodegradable agricultural film using BASF's raw materials underwent field trials on July 11, 2013. BASF, Cargill, and Novozymes jointly announced on July 4, 2013 that they have made great progress in the production of renewable 3-HP, a vital raw material for bio-based acrylic acid (AA) production.
As for the raw materials, the market price of domestic potato fluctuated significantly from Jan. 2013 to July 2013, and may have a slight increase in H2 2013.
In June 2013, the import and export volume of PLA both witnessed a sharp decrease compared to May 2013, while the import volume of dry cassava decreased month on month as well. Besides, China's import volume of castor oil and its derivatives increased while the import price decreased.
