Exceeding USA, China has become the largest gum rosin manufacturer worldwide with output of 327 kMTs in 1980. Since then, China’s gum rosin output has increased to 350~600 kMTs/year. In 1998~2001, global output of gum rosin was about 1,100 kMTs/year, and China’s gum rosin annual output was about 400 kMTs/year on average, acounting for about 1/3 of total global production.
China’s gum rosin industry has been developing more rapidly than before in recent years. China’s gum rosin capacity has rocketed to 781,700MTs/year by January 2006, with 80 active manufacturers of gum rosin. Among all the current active producers, Wuzhou Chemicals, Guangxi Heli and Guangdong Huashi are the top three players.
With abundant pine resources and fast development, China is rich in gum rosin now. And much of its gum rosin is exported to oversea markets, but there is also a small amout of imported rosin in recent years. What are the export rates of gum rosin in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005, respectively?
Gum rosin can be applied mainly in paper industry, paint & coating industry, ink industry, adhesive industry and rubber industry, etc. directly in China. It also can be used to produce derivatives that share the same downstream industries with gum rosin. What are the total consumption percent of those five industries in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005, respectively?
The answers to the above two key questions will be given in this report. Besides, with deep reseach, CCM also fosus on the following aspects which is helpful to undestanding to Chinese gum rosin industry:
- Consumption pattern of gum rosin in China
- Introduction to derivatives industry and main derivatives of gum rosin in China
- The problems existing in the gum rosin industry in China
- Key factors and driving forces for the development of gum rosin in China
- Future forecast on gum rosin in the next 5-10 years
