In September, the herbicide market fluctuated within a range. The average herbicide TC price edged down 0.98% MoM as factories mostly cleared earlier orders; the domestic market stayed subdued and only export business provided support during the quiet-to-peak-season shift. The herbicide market operated weakly in September, with the raw material market mainly experiencing prices increases and a long-term trend towards stability; the prices of chlor-alkali industry and organic chemical raw materials both rose overall.
Company dynamics: On 27 August, 2025, EI report of Chizhou Feihaoda's 800 t/a oxyfluorfen TC technological renovation project was accepted. Upon completion, the oxyfluorfen TC production capacity will be increased to 1,200 t/a. On 10 September, 2025, Jiangshan Yichang's phase-completion environmental protection acceptance monitoring report for the novel green herbicide TC and formulation project was publicised. In late August 2025, five listed herbicide companies released their 2025 semi-annual reports. Xingfa Group, Jiangsu Flagchem and Lier Chemical all posted higher revenue, while Hunan Haili and Nanjing Red Sun reported YoY revenue declines.
Policy: On 22 September, 2025, MIIT and NDRC jointly issued the Guidance for High-Quality Development of Industrial Parks, providing systematic guidance for the quality upgrade of industrial parks.
Registration: On 29 August, 89 herbicides were announced to be approved for pesticide product registration. Glufosinate-P and glufosinate ammonium lead in the number of product registrations, glufosinate-P with 1 TC, 8 single formulations, glufosinate ammonium with 9 single formulations.
Trade analysis: From Jan. to Aug. 2025, total export volume and value of herbicide formulations from China increased by 15% and 10% YoY, respectively. In August, the export volume and value increased by 21.74% and 18.17% YoY, respectively.
