In September, the prices of main raw materials for fungicides generally decreased, while the prices of some chemical raw materials fluctuated widely. The fungicide TC market remained stuck in low-level consolidation, with several TCs continuing to drift downward.
On the company front, from 26 to 29 August, 2025, Hunan Haili, Lanfeng Biochemical, Lier Chemical, and three other listed companies successively released their semi-annual reports for 2025, all achieving double growth in revenue and net profit except for Hunan Haili. On 19 September, 2025, Guangkang Biochemical addressed investor concerns on a range of topics, including its financial performance amid industry-wide challenges and its approach to market value management. On 24 September, 2025, CAC Nantong announced that its R&D centre project has been concluded and the surplus funds raised will be used for other funded projects, adjustments to the investment amounts of funded projects, and delays in funded projects.
In policy news, on 3 September, 2025, the Crop Production Management Department of MARA issued the draft Maximum Residue Limits for 97 Pesticides including 2,4-D Dimethylamine Salt in Food for public consultation.
Regarding registration, On 29 August, ICAMA publicised the 10th batches pesticides that it had planned to approve of registration, which includes 66 fungicide products, with the majority being SC formulations. Popular active ingredients of these fungicide products are tebuconazole, pyraclostrobin, metalaxyl-M, fludioxonil, azoxystrobin, and kasugamycin.
As to disease, on 2 September, 2025, Guangxi released the forecast for the occurrence trend of major diseases and pests in the middle and late stages of late-season rice in Guangxi for 2025, predicting that the diseases in the middle and late stages of late-season rice will generally occur moderately to heavily, with an affected area of 550,000 hectares. On 28 August, 2025, Fujian reported moderate to severe disease outbreaks in mid- to late-season rice, with an estimated affected area of 87,300 hectares.
In trade, in August 2025, exports of China's fungicide formulations reached 32,447.89 tonnes, up 31.21% YoY, with the export value rising by 26.08% YoY to USD136.98 million, and the average export price decreased by 3.91% YoY.
