In April 2018, China’s fluorochemical prices showed an overall downward trend but varied.
- Fluorite: Manufacturers lowered quotations for sales promotion and the supply increased as most fluorite companies resumed production after temperature rebounded.
- Anhydrous hydrogen fluoride (AHF): The price of plummeted by 9.08% MoM because of high inventories of manufacturers and the slack downstream refrigerant market.
- Refrigerant: Since the operating rates of AHF companies rose up and the prices slumped, prices of refrigerants such as R32 and R125 declined. Also, refrigerant factories suffered high storage, quoting lower prices.
- Fluoropolymers: Despite increased overall operating rate, domestic PTFE prices showed an upward trend due to larger rigid demands from prosperous downstream markets.
Prices of fluorochemicals in April
In April 2018, China’s fluorite (CaF2>97%) price slightly rose. However, the upward trend will reverse in the short term because of downstream demands.
China’s AHF price significantly fell down in April 2018 resulted from oversupply and is predicted to further decrease in the short term.
