In terms of market analysis, on 12 Dec., the NBS issued the Announcement of the Grain Yield in 2022. Of the total, Heilongjiang ranked first in China in terms of total grain yield and sown areas, with Shanghai topping China concerning yield per unit area. As of 20 Dec., the survey teams of NBS unveiled the grain production status in Henan, Jiangxi, Shaanxi and Guangdong provinces, as well as Tianjin and Beijing cities. On 26 Dec., NBS released data regarding cotton production in China. In 2022, China's cotton-growing areas edged down by 0.9% YoY.

In terms of company dynamics, on 9 Dec., Luheng Technology started trading on BSE and planned to raise funds for the construction of the Nansha Luheng Seed Breeding Research Institute Base Project, etc.

In terms of policy, on 2 Dec., the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Shaanxi Province issued the Plan of Constructing High-Standard Farmland in Shaanxi Province in 2021-2030, aiming to ensure the 10 million tonnes of grain yield. On 7 Dec., Beijing printed and distributed the Special Action Plan of Constructing Innovation Incubation Base of Forestry, Fruiter, Flower, Grass, Bee, Medicine Seed Industry In Yanqing District, proposing to utilise the agricultural land resources to construct seed industry innovation base.

In terms of import and export, on 29 Dec., according to the General Administration of Customs, China imported about 126.95 million tonnes of grain from Jan. to Nov., down by 12.84% YoY.

In terms of variety, on 9 Dec., Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Yunnan Province publicised 348 varieties of 2022 main crops approved on the 2nd meeting of the 10th Crop Variety Approval Committee of Yunnan Province, including 301 corn varieties, 40 rice varieties, 5 wheat varieties and 2 soybean varieties. On 30 Nov., the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China issued the approved 1,384 new crop varieties, including 827 corn varieties, 438 rice varieties, 70 soybean varieties and 49 cotton varieties. On 2 Dec., the office of Crop Variety Approval Committee of Shanghai Municipality plans to give approval to 35 varieties of 17 kinds of vegetable and fruit crops.
