Under the situation of sufficient supply and lower downstream demand, the LiPF₆ price drops in Dec. and is expected to stand at weak in the following period.

In Dec., the price of lithium carbonate dropped. Large lithium salts factories offered their expected price slightly adjusted and part of their spot goods were sold, with a strong attitude of upholding the price.

In Nov. 2022, China's installed capacity of power battery was 34.3 GWh, a YoY increase of 64.5% and a MoM increase of 12.2%. From Jan.–Nov. 2022, China's total installed capacity of power battery was 285.5 GWh, a cumulative growth of 101.5% over last year.

Major Market Dynamics:

On 13 Dec., 2022, Hubei Wanrun New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. successively announced proposed 100,000 t/a cathode material project, supplementary agreement of 96,000 t/a LFP project and acquisition of Anqing Derun's shareholdings.

On 8 Dec., Anshan Heavy Duty Mining Machinery Co., Ltd. signed agreement of lithium polymetallic ore mining and milling, lithium carbonate, hybrid energy storage and battery cell projects with total proposed investment of USD3.65 billion.

On 5 Dec., CNGR Advanced Material Co., Ltd. successfully produced the first batch of LFP products at CNGR Kaiyang Industrial Base, announcing the completion and commissioning of CNGR's first production line of 200,000 t/a LFP project.

On 2 Dec., Beijing Easpring Material Technology Co., Ltd. intended to build a 300,000 t/a LFP (manganese) production project and a 200,000 t/a ternary cathode material production project in Sichuan Province.
