Recent years saw a series of new environmental protection policies and regulations in China which have extensive impacts, following by strong regulating and corrective measures against environmental pollution in the agrochemical industry nationwide. Against such a backdrop, some Chinese agrochemical companies are struggling to survive, leading to faster elimination of outmoded production capacity in the industry, while other strong agrochemical companies view the pressure as opportunities for development by enhancing environmental investment and their competitive edge. In fact, in H1 of 2019, a number of enterprises have started upgrading and relocating production bases.
It’s worth noting that preparations for the second round of Central Environmental Inspection are in full swing. After more than three years of work, the first round of the Central Environmental Inspection and follow-ups have all been completed and delivered remarkable results. The second round of Central Environmental Inspection is on the way. Government sources said that “problem-oriented” will remain the keyword in the second round of Central Environmental Inspection. Future work will focus more on the effect of inspections, and attention will be paid to preventing environmental pollution and ecological damage in the first place. It has been a whole month since the first round of the Central Environmental Inspection was completed. In mid–May, the second batch of follow-up was completed, wrapping up all the work in the first round of the Central Environmental Inspection.
