Market analysis: in 2024, Inner Mongolia cultivated 23,000 hectares of corn seed, doubled the soybean seed cultivation to 39,000 hectares, and produced 1.7 billion kilograms of potato seed potatoes, with ninety percent concentrated in Chifeng and Hulunbuir City; in July 2025, Inner Mongolia revised the wheat approval standards, specifying rigid thresholds for disease resistance, lodging resistance, growth period, quality, and molecular fingerprints, and set yield indicators according to four categories: high yield, green, high quality, and special features.

Trade analysis: In Jun. 2025, China's import volume of seeds of soybean, corn and vegetables fell by 10.92% MoM to 916.37 tonnes, and the export volume decreased by 10.93% MoM to 379.22 tonnes; In the first half of 2025, China's crop imports amounted to 60.75 million tons, a YOY decrease of 26.3%, with only rice surging by 93%, mainly due to domestic bountiful harvests leading to high stock levels and international prices being high, resulting in profit inversion.

Policy: The Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Anhui Province drafted the Anhui Province Crop Seed Management Regulations (Revised Draft for Comments) and published it on 8 July to solicit public opinion; On 21 July, MARA introduced 133 leading varieties and 143 main promoted technologies for 2025.

Variety: On 1 July, MARA has approved 153 wheat, 13 rice, and 34 corn varieties, and revoked the approval of 12 rice and 17 corn varieties; On 2 July, Hunan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced the preliminary review results of 102 new varieties of major crops for 2025.
