In May, the prices of main raw materials for fungicides showed an overall downward trend, with an average price drop of 7.94% MoM. In May, the fungicide TC market operated weakly and steadily. Market inquiries were active to a general extent, mostly maintaining demand-driven bidding; domestic demand was weak, and foreign trade orders were in the execution phase. The short-term market was mainly dominated by supply and demand, temporarily stable and organized.

Company dynamics:

• On 28 April–29 April, 2025, four listed pesticide companies successively released their 2024 and Q1 2025 results. Among them, Norsyn Tech, Lanfeng Biochemical, and CAC Nantong achieved double growth in revenue for both 2024 and Q1 2025; Hailir's revenue decreased in 2024, but increased in Q1 2025.
• On 21 May, 2025, the approval of the EI report for Inner Mongolia Join Dream's 2,000 t/a picoxystrobin project was publicly posted on the relevant website. The total investment for the project is USD14.15 million (RMB101.9 million), and it is expected to achieve an annual sales volume of USD136.10 million (RMB0.98 billion) after completion.
• On 23 May, 2025, Anhui Jiuyi's 5,000 t/a new broad-spectrum fungicide prothioconazole TC synthesis project passed acceptance check.

Policy: On 12 May, 2025, the Information Office of the Hubei Province Government provided an interpretation of the Hubei Province Agricultural Product Quality Safety Regulations, which will officially come into effect from 1 Oct., 2025.

Registration: On 24 April, ICAMA publicised the 4th–5th batches pesticides that it had planned to approve of registration, which includes 75 fungicide products, with the majority being SC formulations. Popular active ingredients of these fungicide products are pyraclostrobin, tebuconazole, fludioxonil, fluopicolide, hymexazol, and azoxystrobin.

Disease control: On 27 April, 2025, the Guangdong Provincial Agricultural Pest Early Warning and Control Centre issued a forecast for lychee pest and disease occurrence, predicting that lychee diseases and pests will occur moderately, with downy mildew and frost disease occurring slightly and moderately in some areas, and anthrax occurring slightly. On 30 April, 2025, the Fujian Province Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs released information on the prevention and control of diseases in citrus orchards: the province's citrus cultivation area is 165,280 ha, in the full flowering to early fruit stage. Citrus canker is in the initial stage of disease occurrence, with an average diseased leaf rate of 2.30%; anthrax disease points account for 30%, with an average diseased leaf rate of 0.57%.

Trade analysis: In April 2025, exports of China's fungicide formulations reached 24,158.5 tonnes, up 35.49% YoY, with the export value rising by 33.89% YoY to USD104.87 million, and the average export price decreased by 1.18% YoY.
