The China-US trade war has worried industry participants about a potential decline in vitamin exports. Some of the listed vitamin producers have responded accordingly. CCM considers that the trade war will have a limited influence on China’s vitamin exports. In the entire 2017, the U.S. imported USD4 billion worth of APIs from China, becoming China’s second largest API export destination.
April has seen several new projects in the animal nutriment market. Changsha Dogain reached a partnership with a local industrial park to produce vitamin nutriment for animals, and the project is scheduled to be launched in Aug. 2019; Beijing Enhalor started the construction of the animal nutrients project, which will make it the biggest producer of stabilised VC in China. CCM predicts that the global animal health-care industry will keep an annual growth rate of 20%, and as an important additive in animal nutriment, vitamins will also have a bright outlook.
Vitamin enterprises’ financial performance improved in 2017. Bluestar Adisseo’s gross profit margin in the vitamin business increased from 11% to 18% in 2017; Hebei Yuxing’s net profit surged by 50.66% YoY, mainly thanks to its efforts in expanding the business into the corn deep-processing industry. Under the high environmental pressure, more enterprises are predicted to follow Hebei Yuxing and seek new sources of profit for reduced costs.
