In terms of market analysis, In 2025, the area of early rice sowing remained stable with a slight decrease, while yield increased. The area of early rice sown in China was 4.74 million hectares, a decrease of 0.3% YoY; the yield of early rice in China was 6,012 kg/ha, a YoY increase of 1.5%.

In terms of company and supply, on 15 Aug., Dunhuang Seed reported a YoY increase of 21.63% in revenue for H1, with net profit soaring 73.43% YoY. On 19 Aug., Jinmian Seed reported a YoY decrease of 62.11% in revenue in H1 2025, while net profit increased by 127.08% YoY. In H1 2025, Surun Seed's net profit increased by 716.46% YoY, while Huafeng Seed's net profit decreased by 163.66% YoY.

In terms of trade analysis, in Jan.–July 2025, China imported approximately 74.51 million tonnes of grain, down 22.48% YoY. In July 2025 alone, 13.74 million tonnes of grain were imported, down 2.24% MoM. In July 2025, China's import volume of seeds of soybean, corn and vegetables fell by 19.18% MoM to 725.65 tonnes, while the export volume dropped by 39.29% MoM to 230.22 tonnes.

In terms of policy,on 28 July, Hubei Province released the Hubei Central Financial Agricultural Socialization Service Project Implementation Plan for 2025, which clearly states that the agricultural socialization service area in the province for 2025 will not be less than 456,666.67 hectares, with a focus on supporting the production of grain crops and oil-bearing crops. To safeguard and raise autumn-grain output, the Ministry of Finance and MARA jointly allocated USD160.29 million in subsidies and issued supportive policies, focusing on the rollout of the "One-Spray, Multi-Promotion" technology across 13 major grain-producing provinces.

In terms of variety, ,Yunnan announced the preliminary approval for 41 rice varieties and 16 wheat varieties on 15 Aug. On 7 Aug., 45 main crop varieties in Fujian Province were approved.
