In Feb., the fungicide TC market fluctuated, with the overall prices of major fungicides showing a downward trend, and most TC prices fell. In February, the prices of main raw materials for fungicide generally increased, with some chemical raw materials experiencing significant price fluctuations.

Company dynamics: On 10 February, 2025, Jiangsu Youjia's EI report for the 4,000 t/a difenoconazole, 100 t/a fluacizine, and by-products of 1,860 t/a sodium chloride, 1,750 t/a potassium chloride, and 5,940 t/a flocculant technological renovation project was approved. On 7 February, 2025, Shandong Daixing's EI report for the 600 t/a trifloxystrobin and 200 t/a kresoxim-methyl reconstruction project was approved. On 17 February, 2025, Anhui Qihe Biological Engineering Co., Ltd.'s EI report for the 1,500 t/a tricyclazole project was publicised. Tricyclazole is an excellent fungicide for the prevention and control of rice blast disease, and Anhui Qihe decided to undertake this new construction project to meet market demand and promote company development.

Policy: On 5 February, 2025, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China issued the Guiding Opinions on Further Strengthening the Environmental Governance of Hazardous Waste and Strictly Controlling Environmental Risks. Pesticide manufacturers must improve their hazardous waste collection and disposal capabilities, optimise treatment methods, and strengthen their environmental management systems. They should actively support and implement measures to control environmental risks and protect the environment.

Registration: On 21 Jan., ICAMA publicised the 1st-batch pesticides that it had planned to approve of registration, which includes 65 fungicide products, with the majority being SC formulations. Popular active ingredients of these fungicide products are pyraclostrobin, azoxystrobin, fludioxonil, and tebuconazole.

Disease control: On 18 February, 2025, People's Government of Heilongjiang Province released the long-term forecast for the occurrence of major crop diseases in Heilongjiang Province in 2025, anticipating an overall moderate occurrence, with the severity greater than that of the previous year but less than the average of recent years. On 17 February, 2025, Jilin Province released the forecast of the occurrence trend of major crop diseases and insect pests in Jilin Province in 2025, with the expected occurrence area of diseases being approximately 1.38 million hectares.
