Chinese steel industry’s profits grow in 2013

According to report released by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), the combined profits of the CISA's 86 member mills totaled RMB16.2 billion in the January-November period, jumping from a loss of RMB800 million in the same period of 2012.

Besides, CISA predicted that the member mills would realize a net profit of RMB18 billon in the whole of 2013, soaring by 11 times from the figures in 2012.

Meanwhile, the steel industry's overall profits in the January-October period amounted to RMB157 billion, surging by 40% year on year, according to data released by the National Development & Reform Commission (NDRC).
