China’s steel exports and iron ore imports declined in April

According to the data compiled by China's customs, In April China's steel product exports totaled 4.77 million t, decreasing by 0.14 million t month on month and raising by 10.67% year over year. While China's overall steel product exports came to 15.28 million t in Jan-April this year, up 17.4% year on year.

On the other hand, China also imported 1.37 million t of the steel products in April, dropping by 0.16 million t month over month and by 8.67% year over year. While in January-April this year, China's overall steel product imports amounted to 5.55 million t, down 1.0% year over year.

Besides China also imported 30 thousand t of the billet in April and the overall billet imports amounted to 0.22 million t for the first four month of this year, down 0.1% compared to the same period of last year and there were still no billet exports in April.

While China's coke exports came to 0.48 million t in April, increasing by 0.24 million t year on year and the year-to-date coke exports stood at 1.68 million t, raising by 352.6% year over year.

In addition China also imported 52.88 million t of the iron ore in April, falling by 6.6 million t month on month and by 4.43% year over year, meanwhile from January to April this year, China's overall iron ore imports totaled 230.02 million t, up 9.5% year over year.
