Tangshan Chaoyang to Enlarge Dimethyl Carbonate Capacity (Last update: 09/20/2001)
Being a dimethyl carbonate supplier in China, Tangshan Chaoyang Chemical General Factory decides to cooperate with Hubei Wanquan Fertilizer Factory, Hubei Yuehua Co. Ltd. to build a 10,000MT/year production line. The construction work will start in the end of this year and it will finish in June 2002. Fushun Finished the Enlargement on Alkylbenzene Capacity (Last update: 09/18/2001)

PTA Enlargement Project Activated (Last update: 09/10/2001)
The enlargement project of PTA in Yangzi Petrochemical Corp has been approved by State Economic & Trade Committee. After the enlargement, the production capacity of PTA in Yangzi will increase from 600,000MT/year to 1.05 million MT/year. So far Yangzi is the largest PTA supplier in China. In 2000, China imported 2.5 million MT PTA while the actual production is 2.2 million MT PTA. It is reported that the import PTA is cheaper than domestic product. Mono Fatty Glyceride and Fatty Low Carbon Alcohol Ester by Enzyme Method (Last update: 09/06/2001)
Beijing Chemical University finished the research on mono fatty glyceride and fatty low carbon alcohol ester by enzyme method. The largest production facility of hydration acid anhydride has been built in Henan Puyang Caustic Soda and Chloride Factory. The hydration acid anhydride series products include tetrahydrobenzoic acid anhydride (3,000MT/year), methyl tetrahydrobenzoic acid anhydride (1,000MT/year), methyl hexahydrobenzoic acid anhydride (500MT/year), butanedioic anhydride (500MT/year), tetrahydrophthalic imidine (500MT/year). The technical innovation project on glycol ether (10,000MT/year) in Jiangsu Tianyin Chemical Co. Ltd. has passed the appraisal from local government recently. This company invested RMB20 million to change the batch method to a continuous method. The reaction rate from ethylene oxide reaches to 99.8% and the final yield reaches to 85-88%. Hanghzou Linda Chemical Co. Ltd. has broken through the synthetic technology of methanol under low pressure . By using their technology the temperature difference in the catalyst layer has been decreased to 5 degree. This technology has been used in the 50,000MT/year innovation project in Harbin Gas Chemical Factory and the result is proved to be successful. Shanghai Gaoqiao Petrochemical Company Acrylic Acid Factory make up deficit and get surplus this year. This factory is one of the major manufacturers of acrylic acid in China. The production capacity of acrylic acid is 30,000Mt/year. The production line was introduced from Mitsubishi Corp. But sine 1997 some oversea suppliers dumped acrylic acid and acrylates into China, which made Chinese manufacturers deficit till 1999. A first set of isopentene production line has been built in Shanghai Petrochemical Co. Ltd. The production technology comes from Qilu Petrochemical Co.Ltd. Research Institute and has been improved by Shanghai Petrochemical Co. Ltd. Chemical Research Institute, Jinshan Petrochemical Design Institute. Zhejiang Ninghai Organic Chemical Factory invested RMB40 million to do research on L(+)-tartaric acid and got successful. Now they have built a 2,500Mt/year tartaric acid production line. The total production capacity of tartaric acid and its derivatives is 5,000Mt/year. At present they are the largest production base of L(+)-tartaric acid in China.
