-
In the past China is a net importer of pentaerythritol,
mostly monopenta, with annual import average volume of 10,000MTs.
-
However since the launch of the 10,000MTs/year facility
(8,000MTs/year middle grade material + 2,000MTs/year monopenta) in Hubei Yihua
in May 2003, this situation changed dramatically. China is becoming a net
exporter of pentaerythritol, especially the middle grade material and
monopenta.
-
By April 2004, there are 13 manufacturers of
pentaerythritol in China, including one plant under construction (Jiangsu
Sanmu). The most active ones include Hubei Yihua and Yunntianhua.
-
The capacity of pentaerythritol by May 2004 is
136,500MTs/year including 27,000MTs/year under construction in Hubei Yihua and
Jiangsu Sanmu. The capacity of dipenta and tripenta is 2,500MTs/year and
600MTs/year, respectively. It is expected that capacity in 2005 and 2010 will
increase to 150,000MTs/year and 200,000MTs/year, respectively.
-
The output of pentaerythritol in 2003 including:
ü
Technical penta, 51,800MTs,
ü
Middle grade penta (94-97%), 7,200MTs
ü
Monopenta 12,876MTs
ü
Dipenta 185MTs
The
product structure of Chinese pentaerythritol in 2005 and 2010 is expected to as
