The mass production of SBR began in 1960. It is much later than in developed countries (1935).

There are five manufacturers producing SBR in China now. The production technologies include of emulsion polymerization and solution polymerization.

The total capacity of SBR is xxxx MT/year in 2002. The production of emulsion styrene butadiene rubber (E-SBR) accounts to xx% while the solution styrene butadiene rubber (S-SBR) accounts to xx%. The total output is xxxx tons in 2002. Most is E-SBR, accounting xx% of total. Only xxxx tons of SBR is solution styrene butadiene rubber, accounting to xx% of total.
