Description:
The report looks at the situation of Chinese L-aspartic acid industry in the past, at present and in the future. The primary purpose of this report is to disclose the market info of Chinese L-aspartic acid industry.
This report was formulated in Sep. 2007. The data for 2006 and before are based on CCM’s database and other various sources as mentioned in the section of methodology below.
>> All the producers in China, either active or idled or potential, have been sourced and contacted. Their situation has been verified and compiled as in the appendix.
>> The competitiveness of Chinese production has been discussed in order to uncover the mystery of ever-increasing capability of Chinese manufacturing.
>> The import & export analysis for the situation in the recent three years has been conducted.
>> The consumption pattern of the researched subject has been carried out in order to breakdown the end uses into different segments. The major end users under each major end use segment have been identified.
>> The scientific methodology has been employed to conduct the quantitative forecast on this subject in the future 5-10 years.
The aim of this report is to provide powerful assistance to the strategy group and the management team in making correct decision as how to penetrate the ever-increasing China market and how to catch the maximum commercial opportunities. The report is formulated independently by CCM’s professional market researchers, based on the first-hand and primary data, which are analyzed by scientific methodology, confirmed with both manufacturers/end users/traders and legal authorities, and presented in a logic way.

(Note: The following summary is based on the situation in 2007 and maybe different to what it is nowadays. Please be noted.)
Production
Currently there are xx active producers of L-aspartic acid in China with the total capacity of xxxkts/a in 2007.
Jiangsu Jiecheng and Anhui Xinxing are the only two producers with the L-aspartic acid capacity exceeding 10kts/a in China, and the total capacity of L-aspartic acid of these two producers is xxkts/a, accounting for xxx% of China's total capacity in 2007.
L-aspartic acid industry developed rapidly in China in the past few years with the average annual growth rate of 41.0% in 2003-2006, and the output reached xxxkts in 2006.
Currently the supply of L-aspartic acid is tense, and many producers have no stock. The orders have been arranged to the first ten days of October. Most producers are claimed to be running with the operating rate of over 100%, except Jiangsu Huatai and Anhui Koyo.
L-aspartic production is mainly focused on East China including Jiangsu Province , Anhui Province, Shandong Province and Zhejiang Province , whose total capacity of L-aspartic acid accounted for xxx% of China 's total capacity in 2007.
Raw material supply
The supply of aspartic acid has been tight in China because of the increasing export volume and the growing demand from its downstream fields.
The export of aspartic acid has been increasing in the past few years in China , reaching xxx tonnes in 2006. On the other hand, several aspartic acid manufacturers are forced to stop production temporarily to deal with the pollution problem in 2007.
In a short run, the price of aspartic acid will continue to increase and its supply shortage will not be improved.
Consumption
L-aspartic acid is widely used in medicine industry, food industry and chemical industry. About xxxx tonnes of L-aspartic acid is consumed in China in 2006. The consumption volume of L-aspartic acid in L-alanine accounts for xxx% of the total. The second largest L-aspartic acid consumption field is aspartame, which accounts for xxx% of the total.
Technology
Now all the Chinese L-aspartic acid manufacturers are adopting the enzymatic method. The L-aspartic acid is produced from fumaric acid and ammonia by addition of L-aspartase.
