In 2000-2003, the average prices for Chinese AcK have stabilized at around USD14-16/kg for sales to Europe with the exception of Sanhe at USD30/kg. The price has been dropping all the way for the Chinese materials. By early 2003, it is USD8.50/kg except the Sanhe's materials.

Chinese manufacturers able to sell to the United States at USDxxx/kg. They expressed strong interest in the North America market.

The production cost of AcK is updated as of about USDxx/kg. Therefore, the profit is USDxx/kg for export to Europe and USDxx/kg for export to the United States (not including shipping costs).

The total exports in 2000 & 2002 were xxxxMT and xxxMT, respectively. The major export destination of AcK was North America, Europe and UK.

In 2000, total combined AcK capacity is about xxxMT/month and the combined current production is about xxxMT/month. While in early 2003 the total combined capacity is claimed to be nearlyxxxMT/year.

xxxx has filed an application for a new AcK production method. They confirmed the patent has been granted.

There are xxx active research units of ACK in China. Xxxx University has been conducting research on AcK production since 1997. The production method appears to be the same as the Hoechst method except dichloromethane is replaced by a mixed solvent.

In the Chinese consumption market, over xx% Acefulfame-K(ACK) is consumed in carbonated drink and lactobacillus drink, mainly starting from 1998.
