Executive summary:

Triazole fungicides, a category of broad-spectrum fungicide and unique mechanism of action compared to other fungicides, have witnessed fast development in the past few years in China, and they have been playing an increasingly important role in the disease control on various crops in China, ranking the fourth place by domestic consumption volume and the first place by market value in all the categories of fungicides in 2010.

With the capacity expansion and many new production lines' being launched in recent years, China's total capacity of triazole fungicides has reached XXXt/a in 2010, and their total output by technical has hit XXX tonnes in 2010, accounting for XXX% of the total homemade fungicide output, compared to XXX tonnes in 2009 and XXX tonnes in 2008.

By technical output, XXX is the largest triazole fungicide in China, with XXX tonnes technical produced in 2010, and other large triazole fungicides with the technical output of over XXX tonnes are XXX, XXX and XXX.

Moreover, the domestic consumption of triazole fungicides has grown by XXX% in 2010 over the previous year, after a XXX% growth in 2009. The total domestic consumption of triazole fungicides (calculated by AI) has hit XXX tonnes in 2010, accounting for XXX% of the total domestic fungicide consumption, ranking the XXX in the fungicide industry.

By consumption volume, XXX is the largest triazole fungicide in China, with XXX tonnes AIs consumed in domestic market in 2010. XXX and XXX have taken the second and third position with XXX tonnes and XXX tonnes AIs consumed in domestic market respectively in 2010.

Thanks to the high average price of triazole fungicides compared to most other categories, triazole fungicides have taken the XXX place by market value in all categories of fungicides in China, capturing XXX% of total fungicide market value in 2010. Total market value of triazole fungicides has grown to USDXXX million in 2010, up XXX% and XXX% compared to that in 2009 and 2008 respectively. The top three triazole fungicides by market value are XXX (USD XXX million), XXX (USD XXX million) and XXX (USDXXX million) in 2010.

It is expected that both the output and domestic demand of triazole fungicides will continue to see stable growth in the next five years, and it is certain that triazole fungicide industry will drive the development of the whole fungicide industry and promote the upgrading of fungicide products in China.

The increasing market potential of triazole fungicides will be mainly driven by two factors. On the one hand, the application rate of most triazole fungicides on grain crops (wheat, corn, rice, etc.) is expected to continue to see stable increase, with the more attention paid by formulation companies. On the other hand, control range of some new ones such as epoxiconazole will be enlarged in the future years, to be extended to more and more economic crops.
