In 2018, more policies on pesticide industry were released. Regarding policies on pesticide industry, On 4 Feb., 2018, the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the State Council jointly issued the Opinions on Implementing the Rural Vitalisation Strategy (the No.1 Central Document of 2018). This was the 15th No.1 Central Document on issues of agriculture, farmers and rural areas in a row. As of Dec. 2018, the Regulation on Pesticide Administration of the People's Republic of China (2017 Revision) and related measures had been put into effect for more than one year. And there are many policies on pesticide business and pesticide import.



In those pesticide policies, it's worthy to note that those policies concerning environmental protection. On 27 June, 2018, a three-year action plan for cleaner air was released by the State Council to make arrangements for the prevention and control of air pollution in the next three years. On 31 Aug., 2018, the Soil Pollution Prevention and Control Law of the People's Republic of China was adopted at the Fifth Session of the Standing Committee of the Thirteenth National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, and came into effect from 1 Jan., 2019. The Measures for the Administration of Pollutant Discharge Permitting (Trial) came into force in China on 10 Jan., 2018. Notably, the contents in the previous Interim Provisions on the Administration of Pollutant Discharge Permits that are inconsistent with the new measures shall be no longer in force.



In the past few years, China's pesticide industry enjoyed fast development, but it also encountered some bottlenecks during the process. Efforts were made to reduce capacity, strengthen innovations, and develop sustainable agriculture. In the next few years, reducing capacity and adjusting industrial structure will still be the major tasks.
