On June 5th,
Ningxia EPPEN Biotech Co., Ltd. (EPPEN Biotech) announced the Environmental Impact
Assessment (EIA) of its new renovation project of 20,000 t/a L-valine. Doing
so, the company appealed for public opinions.
With a
total investment of USD 21.070 million (RMB144.684 million), the project will
be conducted in Yanghe industrial park, which is located in Yongning County,
Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The construction of the project
mainly includes two parts, consisting of the renovation of original production
lines and the installation of new devices. The current fermentation processing
and the storage room of L-threonine are the targets for the renovation. In the
meanwhile, 87 sets of new devices will be installed, most of which will be
placed in the storage room after renovation.
According
to the project, the original production line of 50,000 t/a L-threonine will be
changed into a production line of 20,000 t/a L-valine, which is in great demand
on market and will likely bring a high additional value and strong competitiveness
to the company. After the renovation, L-valine will become the main product of EPPEN
Biotech. The company also plans to produce L-valine for feed grade with the
biggest capacity of 17,163 tonnes and 2,000 t/a L-valine for food grade as well
as 121 t/a TMP in the near future. Besides, EPPEN Biotech expressed that if L-threonine
is on the mend in the market during the production of L-valine, a measure of
alternative production between these two chemicals will be considered.

a technological centre of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, EPPEN Biotech is also
rated as Class A when it comes to food hygiene.
