Vice Minister Yu Kangzhen meets Tongan Ambassador to China Tau’aika ’Uta’atu

Vice Minister Yu Kangzhen met with Mr. Tau'aika 'Uta'atu, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Tonga to China, in Beijing on the morning of 4 September 2017.

 

Vice Minister Yu noted that China always regards Tonga as a good friend and partner in the Pacific Island region and highly values cooperation and friendly relations with Tonga. He suggested that the two countries discuss and sign the intergovernmental agreement of fisheries cooperation at an early date, and encouraged competent Chinese enterprises to start business in Tongo and cooperate with the Tongan side in areas of fisheries infrastructure construction, aquaculture, aquatic product processing, as well as fisheries technology exchanges and personnel training.

 

Mr. Tau'aika 'Uta'atu extended his appreciation for China's attention to bilateral fisheries cooperation and said that Tonga will actively take into consideration Vice Minister Yu's suggestions on strengthening such cooperation.
