Vice Minister Qu Dongyu met Mr. Bronius Markauskas, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania, and his delegation in Beijing on 19 April 2017.
Vice Minister Qu started with the answer to dairy trade which is a major concern of the Lithuanian side. He also asked for details on dairy production in Lithuania and suggested that the Lithuanian side ensure the quality and sustainable supply capacity of dairy products to be exported to China.
To further bilateral agricultural cooperation, Vice Minister Qu suggested that the two sides seize the opportunity to strengthen cooperation in investment. He noted that China fully supports Lithuania in holding the 13th China-Central and Eastern European Countries Agro-Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum in Lithuania in 2018. Vice Minister Qu also invited Lithuania to participate in the China Hangzhou International Tea Expo 2017 on May 18-21 and the 15th China International Agricultural Trade Fair (CATF) to be held in Beijing this September.
Mr. Bronius Markauskas fully agreed with Vice Minister Qu and hoped for greater progress in China-Lithuania agricultural cooperation.
